Re-recognize boric acid
Among the binary compounds of boron, the most common and most useful is boron trioxide, which is a white powder. This powder has a strange property. When it is put on a quartz plate and heated to three or four degrees centigrade, it will become a paste. When the paste is cooled, another transparent substance will be obtained. This is because the molten boron trioxide formed after cooling is not a crystal, but a glass. Such properties directly affect its preparation method.
